While I'm not the world's best speller, "labor"
(labour) and "check" (cheque) are correct spellings (if you live in the U.S). As this site is addressing U.S. & Canada cattlemen I talk "corrals", "chutes" and feet & inches.
But most of my ideas came from 17 years TB testing cattle, and then 15 years full time designing cattleyards, in New Zealand.
Strange Terms
"Chute" = race
"Tub or crowding pen" = forcing pen (or crush pen)
"Sorting" = drafting
"Corral" = cattleyard or stockyard.
"Headgate" = headbail
"Squeeze" = crush
"Layouts" = plans
Metrics
The 3 online cattle yard packages, and the CD, are each available in metrics if requested.
U.S. $
Sorry, were stuck with U.S. dollars - which currently (Aug 2011) is working in your favor - as the US$ is weakenning.
Drafting
Apart from that, cattle handling needs are fairly much the same in most countries. Probably the only real difference are the ideas on drafting . While in every country the need is still to separate one type, group or weight of animal from the others, there are four distinctly different ways that this is done
in different countries. All four of these "sorting methods" in the 18 layouts + 120 ideas' package.
Feedback from 'down under'
There are more testimonies from Australian and New Zealand cattlemen on the TESTIMONIES page.
